STOKE CITY are to take part in the Uhrencup in Switzerland this summer as part of their preparations for the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.

Mark Hughes' men will face Swiss sides Neuch√Ętel Xamax and Young Boys Bern at the 5,200-seater capacity Tissot Arena in Biel/Bienne in July.

They will face Neuch√Ętel in their first pre-season outing on July 10 with the game kicking off at 8pm local time.

Two days later they will line-up against Young Boys, who have won the Uhrencup on no fewer than seven occasions, with the game again kicking-off at 8pm local time.

The Club's Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "We are delighted to have been invited to take part in such a prestigious competition. We are looking forward to two tough games against decent opposition at a very early stage of our pre-season preparation."

The competition dates back more than 50 years and was last year won by Galatasaray of Turkey. Ipswich Town, in 1963, are the only English team to have captured the trophy.
