Academy coaching details confirmed…
KEVIN RUSSELL will take charge of Stoke City’s U23 side for the 2018/19 season.
The former Potters midfielder takes up the role after spending the last three seasons coaching the Club’s U18s.
The 51-year-old will be assisted by Wade Elliott who filled the role on a temporary basis during the second half of last season following the departure of Glyn Hodges.
Russell’s move to the U23s means that Richard Walker will take charge of the U18s and the 37-year-old will be assisted by former Academy graduates Gareth Owen and Andy Wilkinson.
Newly-installed first team coach Rory Delap meanwhile will dip down on occasions to help with the development of the U23s and U18s.
Russell’s U23s begin their programme of pre-season games tomorrow against Newcastle Town at Lyme Valley Stadium (kick-off 12.30pm).
