Shawcross: 'Fans So Important'

Ryan Shawcross

RYAN SHAWCROSS has called on Stoke City’s loyal fans to play their part in helping the Potters return to winning ways against Swansea.

The City captain will reach a personal milestone tomorrow when he makes his 300th Premier League appearance for the Club but he insists he will only celebrate if Mark Hughes’ men claim maximum points.

The Potters go into the game on the back of successive defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and Liverpool and Shawcross knows a win is overdue.

“People have been talking to me about it being my 300th Premier League but it won’t mean anything if we don’t get the right result,” he said. “That’s the only thing that matters to me – winning the game!

“The supporters can be a massive help; their support is so crucial. We always have fantastic backing, whether it’s at the bet365 Stadium or on the road, and we know they will be right behind us again when we face Swansea.

“We know it’s our responsibility to give them something to shout about and we’ll do our utmost to do just that, but we need them to be with us from start to finish.”

Tickets for Saturday's game are available from the bet365 Stadium ticket office, by visiting or calling (01782) 367599.
