True Test Of Character

Kurt Zouma

KURT ZOUMA says he and his Stoke City teammates must show their real character heading into tomorrow’s encounter against Arsenal.

City travel to the capital on Easter Sunday aiming to record their first ever Premier League points at the Emirates Stadium having lost in each of the previous nine meetings.

The Potters go into the final stretch of the campaign knowing they must pick up victories if they are to move out of the bottom three and retain their top flight status.

Zouma is well aware of the task at hand and says the squad must battle hard to pick up the points required from the final seven games of the season.

“We know it’s going to be tough but it doesn’t matter about the opponent, we need to grab points any way we can,” the Frenchman expressed to

“At the moment we are in the thick of it, we need to win games and stick together, so we need to keep believing – we have no choice. There are still 21 points to play for, so let’s stay positive and make things right.

“We know this weekend will be hard, we’re away against a top side who will also want to win, so we need to show character and play the game the best we can."

“Arsenal are full of quality, we know what they’re about, and we need to make it difficult for them by making them run, keeping the ball as best as we can and of course score goals and try to keep a clean sheet.

“We can’t be scared, we know the crowd will be behind them, but we have players who are experienced playing in big stadiums and know what it takes to win such a game.

“Since the manager has arrived, he’s brought that sense of mentality and that is still strong within us but talking about it gets us nothing, we need to show that fight and spirit on the pitch.”
