Webb Lands Villa Date

David Webb

DAVID WEBB will complete a hat-trick of Stoke City fixtures this season when Midlands rivals Aston Villa visit the bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

The County Durham has already been the man in the middle on two previous occasions in 2018/19 as the Potters played out score draws in both league and cup.

The first came back in September when Bojan’s late header secured a point at Rotherham United, while the second saw Peter Crouch net to secure a FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury Town.

Webb is also no stranger to the Villans during the current campaign having been the man in black for their 2-1 Championship loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday in September.

In total the referee has overseen 25 matches this season across five different competitions. He has brandish 67 yellows and two reds in those games, whilst pointing to the spot on seven occasions.

His most recent outing came last week when he took charge of affairs at Elland Road as Leeds United ran out 2-1 winners over Swansea City.

Assisting Webb on Saturday afternoon will be Dean Treleaven and Lee Venamore, while Darren England will act as the fourth official.
