Wimmer Eyes Productive Month

KEVIN WIMMER has hailed the importance of getting the month of December off to a perfect start against Swansea City last weekend.

The Potters came from behind to chalk up their first victory in five outings, with goals from Xherdan Shaqiri and Mame Diouf securing a hugely significant victory at the bet365 Stadium.

That win elevated the side up into 13th position in the league table and just a couple of points off the top 10 - a position the Austrian international feels that he and his teammates should be in.

“There is now a busy period coming up, so it's perfect to start the month with a win”, he said.

“Many of the games coming up are very important ones, so it's crucial to get as many points as possible and get ourselves up the table in to a more fitting position."

“We will do everything we can do get a good run going in December, and take the positives out of the Swansea City game into Saturday.”

The summer acquisition is gearing up for his first return to North London as an opposition player this weekend having joined the Club from Spurs during the summer.

He is likely to be handed a return to the starting XI too after Bruno Martins Indi suffered a groin strain that will likely see him miss the forthcoming Christmas and New Year period.

“Of course, I am looking forward to the game, that is natural,” he added.

“Tottenham haven't picked up as many points as you would expect them to normally, so that makes it more difficult now for us because they will be looking for the three points at home,” he added.

“We have to be on top of our game, and defend well and make sure everyone is right up for the fight."

“We have quality up front, especially on the counter-attack, so we are always sure that we can be a threat, and know that we can score at any time.”
