Lewis Baker joined Stoke City in a permanent transfer from Chelsea in the 2022 January transfer window.

The central midfielder’s switch to the Potteries brought to an end his 16-year association with the West London club.

Baker – capped by England at every level from Under-17 through to Under-21 – accrued valuable first team experience with a host of English clubs during various loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, as well as in the Netherlands, Germany and Turkey with Vitesse Arnhem, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Trabzonspor respectively.

The Luton-born player hit the ground running on his arrivals at the bet365 Stadium as he scored an impressive eight goals in 21 appearances in the second half of the 2021/22 Championship season.

His performances earned him a new three-year deal with the Club in June 2022.
