The bet365 Stadium’s Boothen Quarter turned into a sea of purple on Saturday as supporters descended on the Club’s home to snap up City’s 25/26 away kit and attend the Spirit of ’92 event.

It was the first chance fans were able to get their hands on the 92/93-inspired alternative kit for which demand during the early days of sale has been unprecedented.

Eager supporters had queued patiently outside the club store on Saturday, with Mark Stein, revered for his goalscoring exploits in City’s colours during the 90s, greeting them at the tills as well as posing for pictures and signing autographs.

The Golden One also made his way over to the Boothen Quarter to kick-off seven hours of 90s clubbing, where those who had purchased the new away shirt gained free entry and received a complimentary drink.

Hundreds of revellers basked and danced in the Stoke sunshine as local DJ royalty Pete Bromley and Lee Fredericks headlined the Back in the Day event, sponsored by Estrella, playing hit dance tunes and house classics until 9pm.

Saturday’s event followed back-to-back concerts across the previous weekend when The Twang headlined an indie rock gig and a series of local artists formed a BBC Introducing festival of music.

Next up in the Boothen Quarter’s summer series is the Big Football Day on Wednesday, July 9, which will include a live screening of England's European Women's Championship group stage clash against the Netherlands.
