Potters Pair Set For Hungary

Sam Vokes

POTTERS pair Joe Allen and Sam Vokes will be hoping to help Wales bounce back from their weekend defeat in Croatia when they take on Hungary later this evening.

Despite producing a hugely positive showing against last summer’s World Cup finalists, defensive errors cost the Welsh dearly as Croatia claimed a narrow 2-1 triumph.

However, they have an immediate opportunity to put that disappointment behind them when they take to the field in Budapest on Tuesday evening.

Victory over the current Group E leaders, who have played a game more than Wales, could likely catapult Ryan Giggs’ side back into top spot with Croatia not in competitive action until the autumn.

Allen is expected to retain his spot in the starting XI whilst Vokes, who was an unused substitute in Osijek, will be hoping to earn a recall and add to his 61 international caps.

The encounter is being screened live on Sky Sports Football at 7:45pm this evening, so be sure to check in and keep tabs on the fate of the Stoke City pair.
